Changelog

Improvements to your exports, newest first. Your export always uses the latest engine, so regenerating picks up every improvement — it's free within your paid year: enter your account and export again.

Already filed with an older export? Regenerate and compare. For most accounts the tax figures change little or not at all. If they differ materially, talk to your tax adviser about whether an amendment is needed. As always, review every figure and the reconciliation report before you file.

Snapshots value memecoins and count more staking

24 September 2026

Regenerate? Recommended if you use balance snapshots.

  • Tokens without a listed price are now valued from their deepest SimpleDEX or Alcor pool at that exact moment. Each line shows the pool and its depth, with a warning when your holding is large compared with the pool (you likely couldn't sell it all at that price).
  • SNIPS staking and XPR Agents validator stakes are now included, and the report lists any other contract still holding your tokens so nothing is silently left out.

More accurate income, trades and snapshots

24 September 2026

Regenerate? Recommended — regenerate to get the most accurate report.

  • We ran automated verification that recomputes exports and snapshots independently from raw blockchain data, and used what it found to make reports more complete and precise.
  • Withdrawing your own balance from AtomicMarket was counted as income. It no longer is (this could have overstated income).
  • Several kinds of real income were recorded as plain deposits and are now income: Alcor liquidity fees and farm rewards, blastpad and bonus-pool rewards, NFT-staking rewards, and SimpleLaunch creator and protocol fees.
  • Some transactions could be counted twice (duplicate copies from a history node, SimpleDEX deposits used in a later swap, Proton Swap order escrow). Each is now counted once.
  • Alcor order-book trades are now recorded as trades (previously a withdrawal and a deposit). SimpleDEX's new route swaps are supported.
  • Proton Swap multi-hop swaps no longer create a confusing extra ticker, and liquidity adds record the amount the pool actually kept.
  • Balance snapshots now read your balances straight from the blockchain at that moment, include locked LOAN, past open orders and unused deposits, and price each token from the best source available at that exact time, cross-checked against a second source.

Balance snapshots include your LP, farm, lending and DEX positions

24 September 2026

Regenerate? Recommended if you use point-in-time balance snapshots (e.g. your 31 March closing holdings). Your CSV exports are not affected.

  • Snapshots now include what you held inside protocols at that exact moment: SimpleDEX and Proton Swap liquidity (split into the underlying tokens), Alcor liquidity positions, yield farm stakes, lending supplied and borrowed, Metal X balances and open orders, and unclaimed SimpleLaunch tokens. Before, these were missing or shown only as LP tokens.
  • Prices now come from XPR Network's on-chain price oracles at the exact moment of the snapshot where available, instead of a daily closing price, and each is cross-checked against CoinGecko.
  • Correction: for a few hours on 24 September, snapshots priced METAL (Metal Blockchain) using the price of a different coin (Metal DAO / XMT), overstating METAL about 2.2x. If you made a snapshot that day, please regenerate it.

Short-memo SimpleLaunch buys and very large accounts

24 September 2026

Regenerate? Only if you bought SimpleLaunch tokens with a bot or script that sends the short memo "buy:<id>", or your account has more than 10,000 SimpleDEX trades.

  • Curve buys sent with the short memo format are now recognised, so those tokens carry their real XPR cost.
  • Accounts with very large SimpleDEX histories are now fetched in full.

Two-step SimpleDEX swaps are trades

23 September 2026

Regenerate? Recommended if you swapped on SimpleDEX by depositing first and then swapping (the two-step path), or ran a bot that made several swaps in one transaction.

  • Swaps made through the two-step deposit-then-swap path were missing from our SimpleDEX data source, so they showed as a separate withdrawal and deposit and the token you gave up wasn't recorded as sold. They're now trades, read directly from the chain.
  • When one transaction contained several swaps (common for trading bots), each swap now gets its own correct amounts.

Multi-token claims, ticker clashes and large-wallet reconciliation

23 September 2026

Regenerate? Recommended if you claimed several SimpleLaunch tokens in one transaction, or hold a SimpleLaunch token with the same ticker as a token from another contract.

  • When one transaction claimed several SimpleLaunch tokens, each token is now credited to the right launch. Previously they could all be credited to the first.
  • A SimpleLaunch token that shares its ticker with a token from another contract (e.g. two different SILVER tokens) is now kept separate, so their costs aren't mixed.
  • The reconciliation report now reads every balance in wallets holding hundreds of different tokens. Before, some real holdings could show as missing in the report. Your export's transactions weren't affected by this one.

SimpleLaunch bonding curve now read directly from the chain

23 September 2026

Regenerate? Recommended if you bought or sold on a SimpleLaunch bonding curve (including launching your own token).

  • Token quantities for curve buys and sells now come straight from on-chain data (your buy transfers, curve sell actions, and the tokens actually issued when you claimed). The third-party data we used before could be wrong in either direction and missed some curve sales.
  • The XPR cost of every buy is exactly what you paid. Token creators buy their own tokens like everyone else. There's no free creator allocation, so creators' cost basis is now correct too.
  • Some SimpleDEX trades that appeared twice in our data source are now counted once.
  • If a launch delivered far more tokens than your buys' minimums, the reconciliation report adds a review note. That usually just means a wide slippage setting.

SimpleDEX multi-hop swaps are trades

23 September 2026

Regenerate? Recommended if you made routed (multi-hop) swaps on SimpleDEX.

  • A routed swap (e.g. token A → XPR → token B) previously showed as a separate withdrawal and deposit, so the token you gave up wasn't recorded as sold. It's now a single trade.

Accuracy fixes for busy accounts

23 September 2026

Regenerate? Recommended if you exported before 23 September 2026. Busy accounts with lots of DEX or DeFi activity are the most likely to change.

  • Some transactions came back from the history nodes in several pieces and could be counted more than once, which overstated sales. Each is now counted exactly once.
  • Different tokens that share a ticker (e.g. two tokens both called XRP from different contracts) are now kept apart instead of being merged.
  • Lending tokens are reconciled as real holdings, and NFTs are listed in the report without being balance-graded.
  • Long Stake principal is booked back into your holdings when the stake ends.
  • Koinly exports label staking and lending income correctly.
  • An export that can't reach our full-history node now fails and retries, rather than completing with possibly incomplete data.

Alcor swaps and a few token fixes

22 September 2026

Regenerate? Only if you swapped on Alcor, earned SNIPS staking rewards, or received airdrops from the known spam sender xprdrops.

  • Alcor AMM swaps are booked as trades (previously withdrawal + deposit).
  • SNIPS staking rewards are booked as income.
  • Worthless spam airdrops from xprdrops are left out.

Launch and early improvements

July – August 2026

Regenerate? Covered by the entries above. Regenerate once to pick up everything.

  • Launch of tax.protonnz.com: full-history exports for CoinTracking, then Koinly and CryptoTaxCalculator (Summ), in your choice of currency.
  • Reconciliation report across wallet, staking, DEX balances, open orders and unclaimed curve tokens.
  • Worthless clone tokens are shown as immaterial instead of review flags.
