XPR Tax (tax.protonnz.com, the “Service”) is operated by Proton NZ (“we”, “us”). It reconstructs a public XPR Network account’s on-chain history and produces data files to help prepare a tax return. By using the Service or paying for an export you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

1. What the Service is — and isn’t

The Service is a data-preparation tool. It reads publicly available blockchain data, classifies and values transactions, and exports them in formats such as CoinTracking-ready CSV, plus a reconciliation report and point-in-time balance snapshots.

The Service is not tax advice, accounting advice, or financial advice, and we are not your accountant or tax agent. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and your jurisdiction’s law. You are responsible for reviewing every figure and for the accuracy and completeness of anything you file. We strongly recommend you have a qualified professional review the output before relying on it.

2. Accuracy & “best-effort”

We take completeness seriously — the Service cross-checks multiple history nodes, repairs known gaps, and reconciles ledger totals to on-chain balances. However, blockchain history sources can be incomplete or inconsistent, prices are sourced from third parties, and classification involves judgement. The output is provided on a best-effort basis and without warranty of accuracy or completeness. You must verify the data against your own records before using it.

3. Payment, access & refunds

Access is unlocked by an on-chain payment to the protonnz account with the memo shown at checkout. Prices are stated on the site (currently USD 10 per account per year, USD 5 for accounts that stake at least 1,000,000 XPR and vote for protonnz, and up to 5 accounts for USD 20). A payment entitles you to regenerate that account’s export for 12 months from payment.

Because payments are made on-chain and are irreversible, and because the deliverable is digital and generated on demand, payments are generally non-refundable. If the Service fails to generate your export, or you were charged in error, contact us and we’ll make it right — including re-runs at no charge or, at our discretion, a refund to your wallet.

4. Public data & account lookups

All XPR Network transaction data is public on the blockchain. The Service can compile an export for any account whose name is entered and for which a valid payment has been made; it does not verify that the payer controls that account. Do not use the Service to compile data for others in a way that breaches their privacy or any law. Exports contain only information already public on-chain.

5. Privacy & data handling

• No accounts, no sign-up, no database of you. We don’t collect names, emails, or passwords. Verification is done by scanning public on-chain payments — the chain is the receipt.
• What we process: the XPR account name(s) you enter and the public blockchain data associated with them. If you connect a wallet, your public account name is used to look up what you’ve paid for; we never receive your private keys.
• Generated files (CSV, reconciliation, snapshots) are stored only long enough to deliver them — download links expire after 7 days and the files are then deleted. Regenerate any time within your year.
• Third parties: the Service reads from public XPR Network history nodes and price sources (e.g. the protonnz indexer, CoinGecko, ECB via Frankfurter) and is hosted on Vercel and Railway. Standard server logs may be kept for security and reliability.
• We don’t sell your data. We don’t set advertising cookies.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any tax, penalty, interest, or filing error arising from your use of the output. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the export in question. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act or Fair Trading Act that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service, and don’t use it for any unlawful purpose. We may rate-limit, suspend, or decline service to protect the system.

8. Changes & governing law

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date reflects the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
